Lavender Essential Oil

The Origin

A multipurpose and the most versatile herb, the use of lavender has been recorded for more than 2,500 years, since its origin in the Mediterranean region. Its antibacterial, bug repellant and skin healing properties have been used for a wide range of products, and its sensual aroma have made it a popular scent worldwide. Lavender is one of a few key essential oils that can be used undiluted on the skin to treat burns, wounds, scars, and more.

The Benefits
  • Removes and eliminates dandruff
  • Nourishes and moisturizes scalp and hair
  • Reduces hair shedding
  • Improve circulation to aid in hair growth
  • Treats dry scalp, fungi, bacteria, and other microbes

Chamomile Extract

The Origin

Chamomile is named using the Greek words chamos meaning 'ground' and milos meaning 'apple'. Chamomile use dates back thousands of years ago to ancient Egypt, where it was believed to have been a sacred gift from the Sun God Ra. Hieroglyphs have shown that Egyptian noblewomen used chamomile for skincare to preserve their youthful glow and naturally slow signs of aging.

This apple scented herb has been studied extensively and found to be anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic and hypo-allergenic. The flavonoid, apigenin, can be found in German and Roman chamomile flowers, which has been shown in research to be anti-cancer.

The Benefits
  • Reduces redness and irritation
  • Hydrates skin and scalp
  • Stimulates and sustains hair growth
  • Protects hair

Pelargonium (Geranium) Essential Oil

The Origin

Pelargoniums, commonly called geraniums, were first formally documented in Europe in 1690. Productions of rose geranium oil began in France in 1847. About 675-1,125 lbs of geraniums are needed to obtain 2.25 lb of oil.

The Benefits
  • Strengthens hair
  • Relieves itchiness
  • Natural bug repellant
  • Improves circulation
  • Renews and heals the scalp

Cananga Essential Oil

The Origin

Very similar to ylang ylang, the cananga oil is extremely versatile and has several beneficial properties. It has a lighter floral scent than ylang ylang, but its medicinal properties are just as extensive. Cananga flowers come from the fast-growing cananga tree, native to the Philippines.

The Benefits
  • Heals wounds
  • Balances hair and scalp pH balance and sebaceous (oil) glands
  • Calms and moisturizes hair
  • Treats split ends and itchy scalp
