You can determine whether sunscreen offers broad-spectrum protection by checking whether it contains sulisobenzone, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, avobenzone, cinnamates, salicylates, and benzophenones.

Sunscreen that doesn’t contain these agents may only filter UVB light. UVB light is responsible for skin cancer and sunburn, but UVA light can also lead to the development of skin cancer and cause premature aging.
